Yes. See http://www.lyx.org/trac/ticket/7431 I think, it is the same problem. You have no dictionaries and therefor the spell checker cannot find any mistakes. -- Reply to Liviu Andronic and Stephan Witt ------------- "Tools > Prefs > Language > Spellchecker" in 2.0 has only one option "Hunspell". It does not show up Aspell option though I have installed it. I already have Lyx 1.6.9 installed with aspell. Spell checker works perfectly. One problem I have been having ever since I started working with Lyx is that unless I installed aspell along with the Lyx installer or Alternative Lyx Installer, I was never able to get spell working. In other words, when I install aspell and Lyx separately, spell checker does not work whatever tweaking I tried. May be I do not know the exact settings. So far, I have not found it on the Internet. In this case, the Windows installer for Lyx 2.0 rc2 did not prompt me to install aspell, unlike Lyx 1.6.9 installer. I have seen similar issues raised by others on the Internet. Am I doing something not right or is it a bug with Windows version of Lyx? Thanks for your time. Ganesh
