Hello Hal,

you have written:

The problem I have is that to view changes I must close the current
view reopen it and then navigate to the the current position, and
maybe even reposition the window. Is there a more automated way to do
this?

I have LyX 1.6.1, Adobe Reader 8, Win XP SP 2 and MiKTeX 2.7 (all in german). If I load a lyx-file into LyX and press on »Ansicht« -> »PDF (pdflatex)« for example, then the Adobe Reader is viewing the document. If I don’t close the Adobe Reader with the PDF-document, make any changes in the lyx-document and press »Ansicht« -> »Aktualisieren« -> »PDF (pdflatex)«, then in the Acrobat Reader the PDF-document has been updated and I can see the changes, but the PDF-document-view begins on the first page, so that I must navigate to the current position. I hope, that was helpfully for you.

Thanks,

Hal

Happy Easter
Marcus

remark

»Ansicht« = »view«
»Aktualisieren« = »updating« or »refreshing«, *not* »actualizing«

The english phrase »to actualize something« means to make real something (etwas verwirklichen), the german phrase »etwas aktualisieren« means »to update something« or »to refresh something«.
