I use LyX 2.0 on Ubuntu 11.04. When I did some work in my /home folder I realised that my .lyx folder is very big. Most of the space is taken by the subfolder "cache" which is over 5GB big. It mostly contains images from my projects in .eps and .png formats. Is it safe to empty the cache subfolder? Is there a way to flush it from within LyX? Such a big cache building up can be an issue on small systems.

Best Regards
