It is a method for entering symbols. For example, you type << and get \ll. However, I see that it is unusable, because a necessary file is not ditributed with the sources. You can get that file from here: http://www.lyx.org/trac/browser/lyx-devel/trunk/lib/autocorrect After you copy it to the LyX directory (~/.lyx on *nix), in mathed hit ! to enter autocorrect mode. -- Enrico
