Except it wont be named "Tools" and so on, if it already is in a language he doesn't understand. :-( Unless there are some "locals" available to translate. But you can start english language LyX like this, from the command line: LANG=C lyx or export LANG=C lyx Then the menu will say "Tools" and you can make a permanent change. I am not sure how this will work if on windows. Perhaps: set LANG=C lyx Helge Hafting
