This depends.

By default, LaTeX does not provide for this option, as it is "unmathematical"
(the typeface is required to distinguish between variables and function
names or constants).
Therefore, it is not implemented by the TeX author.

However, some math-font packages provide for this option. Which one of
them is the right choice for you depends on the text fonts you want in
your document.

Alternatively, you might try to create a "roman" math version or change the
meaning of mathdefault. But this is advanced math-font configuration stuff
that needs reading and understanding "LaTeX 2ε font selection"
(fntguide.pdf) and more than just one preamble command.
