What may be far less trivial---depending on the complexity of your document---is making sure you use Springer's own class and do things "The Springer way" (I speak from recent experience). I would start by downloading Springer's instructions and related TeX files (Class, etc) and reading the instructions. The list archive will help you greatly. Notice also that there is a LyX layout for Springer's journal class (sv3jour, I believe it's called).
