Hi all,

I had to use a GUI ssh connection to edit my LyX document. It was slow.
Like 300 baud modem slow. I type about 45 wpm and I was typing 4
characters for every one it echoed on the screen. It was soooooo 1982.

By the way, this was on 802.11n fed by gigabit Ethernet, so it wasn't a
slow connection.

We all know that everything is slow over ssh, especially GUI stuff. But
to me, this seems a lot slower than usual. Is there some algorithmic
reason why LyX slows down unusually over ssh -X?

Thanks,

SteveT
