Outline window display

I have a master document with a number of parts, each part containing a 
number of chapters. Each chapter is a separate child document. I open a 
child document (a chapter). The Outline window has the slider at the 
bottom of the window hard to the left but displays to section level the 
particular child doc. opened, and to chapter level the other chapters in 
that part. But I want to display this child document to all levels of 
sectioning so I move the slider hard to the right. The outline window 
changes accordingly, but the particular section where the cursor is 
currently, is highlighted in the Outline window *right at the bottom*. 
It would be far more useful if it were at the top of the Outline window; 
even better if it were somewhere midway.
