Thank you very much for View->Update (Ctrl+Shift+R). It's been in LyX for many, many versions, but now it works, and it's a great help in keeping the PDF I'm proofreading in sync with the file I'm modifying.
On my Windows 7 system the pdf viewer does not allow updates to the file. Lyx gives me the error message:
"I can't write on file ..." Does anyone know a way around this? Bob
