I just upgraded to Maverick and deleted my homebrew directory installation, so I had to install all tools again. Now I realized, that there is no real list of recommended packages / programs available on the LyX site, i.e. I am particularly struggling ewith the image conversion ones. I now installed imagemagick and I could not convert pdf to png. I then installed ghostscript and reconfigured, and now it is working. I think a list of additional programs on each platform to do certain common tasks would be a very useful addition to the wiki - and possibly even put it into the help file, as under Linux (Ubuntu) these packages are in the "recommended" section of the package. One could even add a message to the reconfigure dialog, stating that the following suggested packages are missing, and that they are needed for the following tasks. Thanks, Rainer - -- Rainer M.
