Now it makes more sense, although initially it seemed very confusing. It may be worth including these notes on Parts in the Beamer Manual in 2.1. Currently they're only briefly mentioned, and I discovered Parts only by accident: I had an unwieldy large presentation that I had to separate into two different files. With Parts, however, I don't need to do this and I can keep everything compact with one single file.
