Ok, I've verified it myself. IMHO, it's not needed anymore. The preview consists of two scripts: lyxpreview2bitmap.py and legacy_lyxpreview2ppm.py. The first one imports legacy_conversion_step1 (the latex conversion) from the second one. The pnmcrop is part of legacy_conversion_step3 and not used. If I'm not wrong, the wiki is outdated here. I'll correct this, if nobody objects. Stephan
