LyX certainly does not therefore become "irrelevent" for Linux. (sidenote:
FreeBSD at least, and perhaps other unix's, can run Linux apps in a highly
efficient emulation mode).
I still believe that the press release should address how LyX stacks up
against WordPerfect (& staroffice&applixware) ... identifying advantages
and disadvantages.
Any long term user of LaTeX and LyX could site numerous advantages over
these word processing packages. I hope the press release will.
