What I suggest you to do, is to get the latest cvs development version,
the needed tools and get that running.
Then, have a look at the file development/lyx3/LyX3-Tasks, where we
list a lot of things that we'd like to have done.
Have a look at it, and see if something interest you.
Another approach is just to grab a random file, have a look at it
to see what goes on, and then start clean it up.
If you are tough, you'll have a look at the figures in LyX. They
need a clean-up badly.
