Thanks for pointing this out. The manual already says this:
"Plzip uses the lzip file format; the files produced by plzip are fully
compatible with lzip-1.4 or newer".
But you are right it is better to be sure. I'll document in next version
of the manuals that lziprecover can be used in files produced by any of
the programs in the lzip family (lzip, plzip, clzip, lzlib and pdlzip).
Given lziprecover's power and versatility, perhaps it should have its
own package.
"Lziprecover is a data recovery tool for lzip compressed files able to
repair slightly damaged files, recover badly damaged files from two or
more copies, and extract undamaged members from multi-member files. If
the cause of file corruption is damaged media, the combination GNU
ddrescue + lziprecover is the best option for recovering data from
multiple damaged copies".
