With all due respect going forward I will not use, nor suggest others use lzip. This is because of serious design issues that cause extremely serious consequences. I have no desire to explain, not document the design issues. I would ave thought given the very careful comparison and explanations of lzip vs other compression formats such serious design issues with extremely serious consequences would not have occurred.
