I used to do the same thing with my WP-2 (bless its ilttle siicon heart)
and wasted all kinds of time and money on communications software and
cables, etc.  The best thing to do is get a NADS-Box.  Works faster,
cheaper and you retain more of your formatting when you move text from the
Tandy to the 21C computer.
