The Toshiba plasma screen is a legend. I've got a T3100.

Those expensive serial to wifi adapters in fact have cheaper stuff inside, 
which you can buy separately. For example, buy the evaluation board from usr 
and and add a wifi module to it:

You still have to have a power source, of course.
