Mike,
Would the same diodes + resistor modification work for all model T machines? Or
just the 100? I've seen your adapter board and noticed that it says it's only
for the 100.

I'd be happy to burn them for you but unfortunately shipping from Canada would
probably be more than $8.90... BTW, there's also a patch for the M100 (don't
know if it applies to yours) that fixes a small error in the Trig constants;
some people also prefer the Pi symbol to the vertical bar as in the 102, and I
personally prefer to set the default Telcom stat to 19200bd RS232 instead of
the 300bd modem. And of course if you're handy you can add a socket with a
couple of diodes and a resistor and use a '512 instead of the '256 to add an
Option ROM while you're at it (e.g. TS-DOS). m

REX compatibility.
Kurt thats actually a lot cheaper then I expected! Would you mind if I
emailed you about how to go about getting some roms written?

$8.90 US. I don't have the exact breakdown but I bought two 27C256 EPROMS for
I think $0.95. And then I paid another $0.50 to have them burned. Shipping was
more than the EPROMS at $6.00.

All prices in US dollars by the way. The only changes I made to the ROM image
were the Y2k patch  and I personalized it in the upper right hand corner of the
menu by replacing (c) Microsoft with my own message.

Certainly nothing life changing to the machine but I wanted to try it and the
whole process was simple. I do wish my 102 had a socket so I could do the same
thing without desoldering the EPROM.

Kurt, how much did that cost? I can't afford to spend an awful lot more after
buying the Rex. I'm not sure but I think Stephen was thinking of sending me a
rom. But he's looking at the ROM I sent him at the moment. I'd personally just
like it to work, so I can get back to using my M100 :-) James On 4 May 2015

You could get a new EPROM burned and just drop it in to replace the one
that's in there now. Plus fix theY2K issue at the same time.
buyicnow.com is a really inexpensive way to go. I had two 32k EPROMS made for
my T200. It took about a week to get them but they were programmed with the
image I sent and worked perfectly.

I'd love to post you my M100, but its far to delicate/precious to entrust

In theory yes, but the hardware compatibility item is very important.
Since all roms run in VT, we might assume that they are compatible. the
exception is the lack of modem in the EU machines.

I thinking to send James an EEPROM with the other EU ROM that is compatible
with REX.  But, I want to do some testing here to confirm it.

I would prefer to have the target hardware in front of me though..  Otherwise I
am just guessing.

Just out of curiosity then, does that mean that by installing the main
ROM replacement fix REX would run on the machine? I suppose it depends
on whether there are actual hardware differences as well?
