I've got one of these, a red Sylvania branded model. I got the windows version and run linux on it: http://geodesicsphere.blogspot.com/2013/01/howto-setup-sylvania-synet07-netbook.html It's about half the speed of the first Raspberry Pi. Not very speedy... but VERY portable. The thing is very small. And considering its size, the keyboard is remarkably useable... it's actually pretty decent. It's slightly smaller than a fullsize keyboard, which isn't a problem for me but others may have a problem with it.
Then again, for $35, you've almost got nothing to lose! (I still haven't gotten wifi to work on it, but wired ethenet works great. If i could figure out getting a USB Serial adapter working on it, it'd be substantially more useful to me, but until then, it looks cute on my shelf(*))! :D -s (*) who am I kidding... the "shelf" is a box in the basement stacked up with other boxes of junk. hehe.
