That doesn't quite ring true with me so I will try it. You should not have
to reflash rex.
Everything you say sounds plausible until that last point- needing to
reflash to recover.
Otherwise I can see conflicts potentially with file names and directory
entries. That can happen. But not overwriting the base image in Rex.

Power cycling after a cold boot should guarantee your abiity to 'call
63012' and reinstall Rex manager.

The only way to start it is open Rexmanager, and activate the ROM in REX.
It runs as normal. I can play around, switch back to TS-DOS or SuperRom and
then shut the machine off... no problems.
