I don't have a REX for my 8201 so I was just having an eprom burned. My unit has an Ultimate ROM II in it right now but I was trying to get Sardine in there. Strange because the image works fine in virtual-T. There really aren't many option ROMs for the NEC and that was my main reason for not putting a REX in it. But I may end up having to do that since I can't seem to get the Sardine eproms I ordered to work. Thanks for the info though. I made two orders to that outfit in China to have the ROMs burned and I suspect the binary image somehow got corrupted either through email or on their system. Every other ROM I had them make has been clean. This is the first option ROM though. All the others were system ROMs with the Y2K fix in them.

I don't believe they were modified. Did it work in REX?

patch and I did the same thing for my NEC 8201. However, I've had
two eproms burned of the NEC version of Sardine using the
SARNEC.BX file from the REX option ROMs. Both times it has failed
to work. I'm wondering if those roms are original or have they
been tweaked a bit to work with REX?
