The timeout periods have to be extended or removed on the TS-DOS (NEWDOS) side. It simply wasn't designed for anything but the comm characteristics of a real TPDD drive or Desklink. On a wired connection these issues generally do not arise on Linux. The only place I've seen bog standard TS-DOS have issues with LaddieAlpha is with a USB->Serial using the Windows "Prolific" driver, and even then I think it works in the -win32 mode since it manages to achieve lower latency by using a lower level API. FTDI chipsets are much better and more tune-able regarding the serial to usb conversion. -- John.
