All I am confirming is my experience. The cable that I received (alleged to be 
Creative compatible) comes native, so to speak, with the tip negative. It has 
an adapter cable about 8" long which reverses that and makes the tip positive. 
The result is that it can be used with both polarities. I bought this about the 
first week of December. But the one I indicated, the Creative compatible 
designated unit has been working for me. 

 I should have mentioned that I have only used the cable to operate the M200. I 
have not tried to use it to charge the batteries. I use Eneloop Panasonics for 
operating most of my stuff and use external quick chargers at home for 
charging.
