Thanks Bert, that makes sense. I think I found where the baud rate is set in 
the RAM versions and I can tweak that to 9600 until I get all the testing done.

normal operation -- I don't remember which one is which but setting the 
switches on the physical TPDD switched the baud rate.

As I work with the TPDD for the Android I'm running into a speed 
problem. A question for those of you who have spent far more time 
tinkering with the TPDD protocol that I have. Under what circumstances 
does TS-DOS drop down to 9600 baud. In testing I found that I can't run 
in debug mode at 19200 baud but I can at 9600 baud. However, not 
everything works properly at the lower speed. So I'm wondering how to 
fake out TS-DOS to make it switch to 9600 baud.
