Hi all,
Before I dive in the M200 troubleshooting process, I thought I'd check
to see if anyone else has experienced this. After many years, I'm the
happy owner of a 200 again. I've replaced the NiCD already.
It worked a few times... but now just shows two horizontal lines across
the screen. When I try to power it down, it's doing something but
doesn't actually power down. I can hear a faint noise as it struggles, too.
I'm guessing (having read the troubleshooting procedure) that I'll need
to replace some old electrolytic caps, given that they're 30+ years old.
Has anyone else seen this behavior? Anything in particular I should look
for?
Thanks!
David
PS. I started in the M100 world years ago with a Kyocera KC85 I bought
from DAK (I think). If you're an old Compuserve user, you may have run
across the ROM dump I uploaded in the late 80s. I used to have a full
200 setup w/ disk drive and other accessories but it disappeared over
the years. Looking forward to getting back into it: I want to try
interfacing projects via the system bus.
