Gary,
As far as the 3v Lithium cell, from the pictures I have seen of the booster
pack, it looks to be the same 3v cell that Purple computing used in the SideCar
memory expansion for the NEC. I have one of those that had a dead battery and I
bought a new Panasonic BR-2/3A battery for it. Soldered it in and everything
worked properly. Cost me $7.50
But there was reference in the manual that came with my SideCar that two AA
cells could be used. The only downside is that they would have to me changed
every 6 months.

div.yiv5663426830WordSection1 {}-->Hi All,The BoosterPak arrived today. Play
time!I have hooked it up to an M100 and can get it to re-initialise the disk
and boot to the main menu. The Asteroids game seems to fail with a syntax error
in Basic when following the instructions. I haven’t tested much further than
that yet. The BoosterPak is filled with RAM chips with all of the RAM/ROM
jumpers replaced with hard wired links and no option ROM sockets. This appears
to be how it left the factory. This means for me to use any of the sockets as
ROM instead of RAM, I am going to have to start de-soldering links etc. The
BoosterPak ROM version is v1.23 and I can copy it if we don’t already have a
copy of that version on the site. The BoosterPak and X-Tel/Asteroids ROMs were
missing their covers over the EPROM windows so hopefully they are not
corrupted.   Some questions…When I power off the M100 and power it back on, I
have to perform a hard reset and re-initialise the disk. I am assuming that
this is due to the 3v Lithium backup battery having long left this realm. Safe
assumption?Does anyone have any recommendations for what to replace the 3v
lithium cell in the BoosterPak with? I was thinking of putting a 2xAA holder
inside the case and either using a couple of AA Alkalines (preferably) or
Lithiums. The main board says ‘Purple Computing’. I thought it was travelling
Software that made the BoosterPak?Cheers,Gary
