I would be interested in it, if it's for sale. Just expressing an interest :)Sent from Samsung tablet -------- Original message -------- From: Jan-80 <[email protected]> Date: 11/03/2017 11:47 (GMT+00:00) To: Model 100 Discussion <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [M100] Price of a TPD(2) I am surprised that it's worth so much. I would have thought that, with all those cheap TPDD-emulators, the need to buy the real thing would have disappeared. Apparently not. Collectors still want the real thing, I suppose. (I should know, but I'm not a typical collector) It's a TPDD2, by the way. I still have mine, and I don't need another one. So, I'm going to propose a price of €50,- without shipping, to the person who asked me first. If he doesn't want it, I'll post it here, for the same price. It's only fair that M100-list-members have the first choice. A that time, I'll send photo's to anyone who wants to see it. If nobody in the group wants it, it goes on e-bay, again for the same price. I paid $50 for one in good clean shape, with it's original box, and the special serial cable, but no manual and no disk, and the box was a bit roughed up from handling. This still leaves the matter of the belt inside though. It IS goo inside there. By now it's not a maybe, it just is. A new belt is readily available from various on-line sellers for under $10 usd. And it's not TOO hard to install. Google or ebay search "FRW-8.5 belt" for the belt. You want to have some alcohol and qtips to clean up the tar that the old belt has turned into. If you go on ebay and search for Tandy Portable Disk Drive, and then go to filter andnenable sold items, you see that a few different units complete with box and disk, have gone for between $50 and $65. -- bkw On Mar 10, 2017 5:01 PM, "Gary Hammond" <[email protected]> wrote: I have paid more than USD100 for one (including freight to New Zealand). I have one, still in the original box and plastic, with manuals and disk. I also have someone who wants it, but I don't know what it's worth.
