I hadn't even considered using a TPDD server (Android, WIndows, whatever) for
such a purpose. I suppose it's possible to create a window that displays data
sent over the serial port in a new display packet format. Though it would
likely be slow and limited to text only.
The system bus or parallel port would be MUCH faster for this. I think Ken was
working on something that attached to the parallel port not too long ago.

Well, you're going to be tethered to some kind of display anyway, so another
cable for power won't make much difference... Personally I'd still go for just
a Bluetooth or WiFi module in the ModelT talking to a separate receiver
connected to the display; minimal power drawn from the ModelT. As I've
mentioned a few times that's easily done using an old headless laptop running a
simple terminal program. We'd also need some firmware addons to handle colour,
80x24 screen size etc., not to mention the interface to the module and of
course the external receiver module... I wonder if the Android version of mComm
could be used/modified; a cheap tablet with Bluetooth and HDMI could presumably
do the job... While we're at it, maybe a $20 Android TV box would be even more
flexible; in theory it could be both a NADSbox replacement as well as the
display interface (not to mention watching your favourite movies and TV
shows...) m

I personally value not dragging another power supply around. Something
designed to fit inside the power capability of the M100 - hence taking power
from the system bus - is more appealing for me personally.

That would get the job done, but wouldn't be as interesting or fun IMO. If
all we wanted was a computer with a better display, then we already have that
way way waaaaay better, and it doesn't incorporate a Model 100 at all.

You mean : Color ? ;-) My 2 cents: (About rebuilding a (D)VI) As
hardware is often a stumbling stone, would it not be easier to use a

In that case, development would be limited to software and some hardware
connections. It's a single task this hardware has to perform, so it doesn't
have to be powerful. Furthermore, it could be more flexible and adaptable to
both Nec and Model T. Because if you start to develop everything from
scratch, it might turn out to be a very lengthy process… Greetings from the
