0: Everything turned off. Everything connected. Drive door open. No disk in drive. Monitor on.
1: M100 on. 2: DVI on. 3: Wait for dvi to say "Insert System Diskette" 4: Insert disk and close drive door. ...doesn't matter what comes next, because nothing else happens. -- Motor doesn't spin? Light does not come on? -- Light comes on before even inserting a disk or closing the door, which is odd, but is what the manual says to expect. Main motor does not spin or even twitch at all. With the cover off the dvi, I can feel the bottom of the motor itself, where the speed calibration sticker is, so I'm not relying just on sound. Certainly the first step is to just plug some other drive into the dvi or plug this drive into something else. I don't have any half height 360k drives handy, but I do have a few 1.2M drives. It wouldn't hurt anything to just plug one of those in, and insert a scrap disk, just to see if the dvi makes the motor spin. That alone would clear the dvi. Once I know that much, I can get another drive, maybe repair the drive I have, or possibly figure out the jumpers on my 1.2M drive to get it to work as a 360k drive. -- bkw
