nimh chemistry is ok for the circuit,

but there is always still the separate issue that the cheapest no-name
manufactured ones are a risk simply because of unknown construction quality
and longevity. So, try to get Yausa or Varta or Panasonic etc, and
generally pay more than $5 per batt not $2 per batt.

Or at least, if you get a no-name, just be aware of that and be prepared to
go back inside in a few years. Probably won't hurt the machine unless it
leaks, more likely simply not work for 30 years like the original did!
