Thanks Frank. I had tried removing the two option RAMs and had the same result. 
I just tried ctrl-break reset which also did not change things. Is there a ROM 
dump somewhere online I can compare my ROM to? I'll get out my EEPROM burner 
and read it in later this afternoon, have something else on the bench now that 
will be doing a burn in for a few hours.

I was just looking around for a source for an 80C85. None of my normal sources 
(BG Micro, etc.) seem to have them so perhaps eBay is the only option. I cringe 
at buying ICs on eBay as you never know what you actually get (correct part 
working or not) or if the seller will just throw it in a plastic bag.
