It's very common to use a TPDD (Tandy portable disk drive) client
likeTS-DOS or TEENY in concert with a TPDD emulation server like
laddiealpha or mcomm to transfer binary files.

Of course first you have to get a client into the system. Tsdos is
typically run from an option ROM. Teeny can be loaded via TEENY.EXE or a
ascii formatted BASIC loader.

I think mcomm can bootstrap in a RAM version of Tsdos.
