It does not look terrible. The PCB does not look corroded, but it did do a
number on the ribbon cable for the screen. I would be tempted to at least crimp
a new connector on it (if long enough and not corroded to far up the cable.)
You can clean the battery contacts with vinegar, lemon juice, etc. I even saw
someone use CLR which I thought was a novel idea.

The electrolytic caps in the power supply section (well all of one type/brand
in my case) tend to leak and it is a good idea to replace them. I did a video
on that which might help if you want to tackle it yourself.

Subject: [M100] New Model 100 owner - looking for assistance

Hello everyone,

I'm a long time TRS-80 Coco user, but new to the TRS-80 portable computer
world. I just got back from my 2nd Tandy Assembly conference (which was
fantastic, BTW) and met some great people associated with these portable
computers.

In any case, I recently acquired a Model 100 (condition unknown at the time it
was shipped). I received it yesterday and opened the case up for an inspection
as I could tell there were leaky batteries in it. Here's some pics:

Looking for some opinions on whether or not this is salvageable. I'd like to
see it working again, but need some assistance from the experts.

Thanks so much for allowing me to join your community.

-Ron
