Thought about that too Steve, but haven't been able to find anything about how 
to mod mComm command line or internal options for the port. It always comes up 
saying to use RUN"COM:98N1E."

If I mod the port in Win7 Device Manager to match 19200 (98N1E), 9600 (88N1E), 
or 300 (3N1E), the problem persist.

are you transferring at 300baud?  I would try that.  sounds like you are
dropping bytes due to no flow control possibly.
