I got to thinking, perhaps it may be possible to have a Sardine/REX setup that would work with T-Word.
With some disassembly, it wouldn't be difficult to discover the method by which T-Word switches in the alternate ROMs during a spell check. And with that reverse engineering, one *might* be able to write a software shim that could translate the method it uses to the appropriate REX rom flipping, and viola! You'd have the 4-ROM Sardine set functional from a REX. (Stephen, did you already explore the idea and discover things that may be too difficult to make work?) By the way I examined the Booster Pak version and the NEC PG-Designs 8-ROM bank version of the Sardine ROM 4-chip set, and indeed they are the same design with just machine system ROM reference differences in T-Word. In fact three of the four ROMs are byte-for-byte identical, which are the ones that contain the actual dictionary library. Just thinking out loud here but if there's a huge amount of interest in this, one might be able to justify some investigation on creating this kind of solution within REX. Hmmmm.
