My personal approach would be: 1. Open the unit 2. GET THE DAMN BATTERY OUT!! (https://twitter.com/48kRAM/status/1082807102714904576) :) 3. Check keyswitch functionality with ohmmeter
It's likely that the keyswitch itself has become damaged or dirty over time. Also check solder joints to the PCB. -Josh (P.S. - Apologies if I offend with the battery comment.
