You guys beat me to the link.

As for the tablets, the earliest version of Android that I have ever tested on 
was 5.1. That was my old phone. The USB/serial library I use is supposed to 
work on 4.4 and above but I have never tested it with something that far back. 
You could always build a setup like I use. The Android TV Box setup. Parts will 
run less than $40 and just about anybody can put one together. These are the 
same size as three 3.5" floppy disks stacked together. The first box I used was 
a bit too slow for TS-DOS to work 100% of the time but ever since switching 
over to the box using the S905x chip, I have had zero problems.

Old phones tend to work good too as long as they are above version 5 of Android.
