my bench ATM with power supply issues. :-/" After replacing caps and the NiCd in my M100 - my first experience with these machines - I experienced a problem with the display: faint, fading in and out, unresponsive to the contrast control. Finally, no display at all; I assumed I had screwed up somehow in my repairs. Split the case and looked for cold joints or bridging, checked voltages, etc. Nada. Separated the keyboard and display from the mobo, and there the machine sat until yesterday. I reassembled, applied power, adjusted contrast and got a display. I'm thinking the connectors had oxidized enough to cause the problem. And of course AFTER I had a display again I read the diagnostic on http://bitchin100.com/wiki/index.php?title=Recovering_an_Unresponsive_Laptop. Live and learn. But thanks to all for their suggestions and assistance. -CH-
