In the over 25 years since I started using them, I have never, REPEAT NEVER, had an Energizer Lithium battery leak. That goes for AA, AAA, and 9v types. Granted that they are a little more than twice as expensive than name brand alkalines, but they typically last me three times longer in my devices.
I got tired of using alkalines that leak, Duracell worse than others. Eveready not near so often, but more than I want., to say nothing of off brand or store branded ones. I have a lot of electronic devices and test equipment that are used infrequently, but are difficult to remove batteries from when not in use (the thing the manufacturers recommend to do), that might cause more damage to because of removing / re-installing battery covers with self tapping screws. So I have a lot more peace of mind leaving the Lithiums in them. The only exception to this is the battery packs I build for my vacuum tube radios (lots of cells to make +45, +67.5, +90 and +135 volts for military and commercial AM radios I collect) and things that use C, D or lantern batteries. These I do remove when not using the devices. For the high voltage batteries, I have found the Kirkland AA and AAA cells not near leak prone as Duracells, and based on my "load testing", found them to perform as well as Eveready alkalines. As for the M100 content, I keep a set of Energizer Lithiums in my T102 at all times to keep the ni-cad topped up, but operate from an external "D cell pack" I made in a nice vinyl case that sits on the floor, connected by a 10 foot coiled power cord.
