Ah, I’ve just answered my own questions I think. The REX# is still flash based so does not need a capacitor to protect its memory.
I guess this leaves me with two questions; 1. does the REX# still support main OS ROM replacement through hardware modification? (I haven’t done this yet, but was planning to). 2. Are there any immediate advantages of the REX# over the ‘classic’ other than continued support (which is quite a thing)? I’m totally understand the reason for the end-of-life of the Classic REX line so this is definitely not an issue for me. I’m really mostly interested in what’s new and imrpoved :).
