My T is relatively recently received (I've had it less than a year). It was fully functional when I received it but I know nothing whatsoever about its previous life or what stresses it was subjected to. It's doubtful it was run at 105ÂșC but I can't at all vouch for any mistreatment it may or may not have suffered over its long journey to my desk. It lives a life of ease now -- probably less than three hours a day of use in a temperature controlled environment -- but I don't know how close those 33 year old caps were to failure. I can make some reasonable guesses how close the new caps are to failure, though, and that sense of assurance was worth an evening's effort and the price of a cap kit. I don't seek to recap every piece of retro equipment that comes across my desk, but the T gets special treatment because I use it. If the quality of the workmanship of the recap is an issue, I know where to find the guy who did it!
