I see no problem with this. Rex is a hardware+software combo for sale. All software has bugs. He supported it for a long time, even allowing third party hardware to use his (binary) software, firmware. I think users expect that at some point you stop getting feature updates and bugfixes and if you want new fixes and features you buy the new stuff.
And even if there are some known issues with the original Rex, it works well nevertheless. -- John. >
