OCD self-nitpick: I meant S, not O. :)

Amendment: I noticed a couple of additional things.

- Although the Reset button won't recover the machine from the state it's in,
pressing Ctrl-Break (note: NOT Shift-Break) will immediately cold-reset the
T102 from this state, without touching the Reset button.

- When I execute CALL 63012 after a cold reset, the first half of whatever text
is on the first line on the LCD clears, followed about a second later by the
second half. After that, nothing happens (except the aforementioned Ctrl-Break
weirdness).

- I have re-applied the 260 update and it still behaves the same way. I would
strongly prefer not to have to use the full-reset version of the 260 update if
I don't have to (I have most of the images backed up, but not all are current
of course...), I'm hoping there is some way to reset whatever flag I've
inadvertently set in the flash by choosing that SYSTEM# entry, since it seems
to be trying to go back to whatever that points to every time and failing.

REALLY REALLY REALLY hoping these symptoms give you an 'a-ha!' moment, Stephen.
 :)
