TS-DOS implements timeouts, and was tuned for interaction with real TPDD drives and Desklink running on DOS machines... Desklink + DOS + PC was able to focus purely on the task of TPDD service. Which even on old hardware given hardware FIFOs, and being the only application running was a low latency affair. Testing with TEENY would address one factor since it doesn't do any timeouts. If not possible, confirm the combination of Ken's modified TS-DOS + timeout settings works with real laptop + TPDD or emulator, then secondarily VirtualT + TPDD or emulator. -- John.
