Just so there is no confusion, they are legit in that they are working copies of the original disk, on new-old-stock disks, with nice laser-printed labels on quality glossy sticker stock, that have the bootstrap instructions printed right on the disk, and then tested. But they are not original from TANDY.

I made those and intentionally made the label different from the originals just so they would be functional and look nice, but not be at risk of deceiving someone sometime in the future. I mean without researching, anyone might casually think it was original just because it looks clean, but as soon as you google up the manual and other pictures of the original materials, you then know this is not original, then you notice how there is no (TM) or (C) anywhere.

Besides I also wanted the bootstrap instructions right on the disk and the original labels are dumb and just say "Utility Diskette" with "26-3808" in a corner being the only way to tell what it's even for. They don't even say "tandy portable disk drive".

And besides that there is the BASF disk itself which is totally different. The fact that they are actual single-sided disks almost makes them rarer than the fact that they are TPDD1 utility disks! Now I feel like I should have kept a few more from that lot. But the drive is single sided and there are practically no other single-sided 3.5" drives that might have any use for a disk like that so there is no better use for them.

The TANDY 600 drive is one other example.

If you want to print your own labels for your own backups, I used a program called glabels to make them and the source for the labels are here:
https://github.com/bkw777/disk_labels

The label files include links to where to get the exact matching label stock to print them on, and the main readme has notes about how to get a good print quality from a typical laser printer. You have to alter settings for heavy glossy stock like that.

Josh, I actually saw that, but wasn't sure if it was legit. Good to know it is!

Would someone be willing to make a copy of the 26-3814 disk for
the PDD2 drive? I would appreciate it and will happily pay for it.

        Thank you,
