I think it must have been due to TS-DOS not being cleanly removed. Installed a REX Classic, enabled TS-DOS. Loaded ROM2S1.DO. Did DOS-OFF, REXMGR->Uninstall. Popped in ROM to dump and this time it worked without a hitch. I'll need to review how to properly remove TS-DOS from OPTROM.

It seems simple enough so I must be doing something stupid. I installed TS-DOS to transfer the ROM2S1.DO over and then removed TS-DOS with ROM-OFF, KILL"TS-DOS". This seems to have worked but perhaps left something behind? Set up the terminal program (tried CoolTerm and TeraTerm) known good serial connection. RUN ROM2S1 and it poke the ML program into memory, seems to bring up the TELCOM screen on the bottom, can see that the HS lines are now toggled ON, and then nothing happens. Nothing is sent.
