I recently received my TRS-80 Model 100 from an ebay seller. The unit
powers up fine, but has two minor issues.

1) Some of the keys work intermittently. They are in random locations, and
don't appear to be associated with other keys like you would see with a bad
trace. The keyboard was very dirty, so I cleaned it and used Deoxit on the
key switches. That made no difference in the intermittent keys issue. The
keys do eventually work if I keep pressing them. So that seems like dirty
key switch contacts to me. I'm assuming that I will have to remove each key
switch that has the issue from the PCB and clean them individually.

2) I noticed that two columns on the LCD have a partial failure (it's not
from the top to the bottom of the screen). I'm not sure what to do about
that. I'd rather not try to find a replacement LCD screen if possible.

As an aside, I did replace the onboard battery that had started to leak.
Luckily, nothing was damaged. I had an extra replacement that I had
acquired from Jeff Birt when I had done a clone PC restoration project
recently.

Any suggestions to addressing the aforementioned issues is appreciated!

Thank you!

Joe
