I recently picked up another Model 100 which stated that it does not power on. When I received it and tested it, indeed no response at all when powered up with fresh batteries. I set it off to the side to troubleshoot this weekend.

However, I had forgotten to turn off the power. This morning, I noticed the low battery LED was on. I then noticed that the menu was now visible. I switched it on and off several times and tried launching some of the programs and it seemed fine.

I turned it off and left it off while I went to work and when I returned home, it would not power on again.

My gut tells me bad caps or perhaps the internal battery causing this. I have seen this behavior before in other products where it takes a very long time to charge up the caps or nicad batteries enough to allow enough current to flow for the rest of the circuit.

I wonder what others think it might be.
